Here’s another family recipe from my Grandmother. Not sure if it is her creation, published somewhere, or from someone else’s kitchen. Regardless, it’s my favorite cornbread of all time! It’s simple to make, and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. corn meal
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. milk
- 1/3 c. vegetable oil
Directions:
- Sift flour, corn meal, baking powder, sugar and salt together.
- Add the egg, milk and oil.
- Mix and put batter in a greased 8×8 baking pan.
- Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Grandma Clark’s Cornbread
