Recipe adapted from Maxi’s Kitchen.

Ingredients:

Sauce:

  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • 2 TBSP brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP sesame oil
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch

Beef:

  • 1 lb. shaved beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 TBSP avocado oil
  • 1 TBSP ginger paste
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

Bowls:

  • Hot steamed rice
  • Korean BBQ Beef
  • Steamed broccoli
  • Kimchi
  • 1 green onion
  • Sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Sauce: In a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Beef: Season beef with salt and pepper. Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat, and add the avocado oil. Once the oil is hot, add the shaved beef (in batches) being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Sauté beef until cooked through and remove from pan. Repeat to cook remaining beef in batches.
  3. Stir Fry: Once the beef is cooked and removed from the pan, add the onions and ginger and cook for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Stir the sauce, and then add the sauce to the pan, and simmer until the sauce thickens. Add the cooked beef to the pan and toss to coat.
  4. Serve over rice along with broccoli and kimchi, and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
